Food Nutrition Information
What We Digest

There is so much food nutrition information available today that it is hard to know where to start.

Nutrition-related diseases account for eight out of ten of the leading causes of death, and 95% of the population is deficient in at least one vital nutrient.

You Have Been Misled

Unfortunately, we are constantly bombarded with misinformation about nutrition. You are being shuffled from one food fad to another by special interest groups, fast food promoters and junk food peddlers. The results to your health may be devastating.

Even sources that you have come to regard as authorities on the topic have been known to provide “slanted” advice, unknowingly I am sure. ;-)

The only way you are going to be able to ensure your good health is to take control of the way you "feed your body".

Take Control

In this section, you will learn how to eat nutritiously so you can balance your body and attain greater levels of health. You are going to learn the basics of good nutrition and how to plan meals that will promote good health.

The food nutrition information provided here will make it easy for you to maintain a healthy diet. Most of the suggestions are simple to apply and should fit easily into your current eating habits. Some of the ideas may be a bit foreign and you might want to take them one step at a time, but the closer you are to following the recommendations, the better you will look and feel. Even small changes will provide you with great rewards.

As you continue reading these pages, I would like you to ask yourself …

…. “Does this food nutrition information make sense to me?”

Change Your Focus

Everybody knows that what we eat is very important to our health, but even more important is what we digest. You have heard me say this several times and although it may be a new concept, I am sure you can see how this new focus will affect your health.

Proper digestion is the motive for every recommendation made in this section. You will experience optimal digestion and nutrient delivery if you eat the foods and follow the preparation methods described here.

Five Laws of Nutrition

First, I will outline five nutrition guidelines which you should adopt as “laws”. These basic guidelines can be implemented one at a time if needed but they should become a part of your personal commitment to health and you need to stick with them faithfully.

These basics of food nutrition information target the biggest causes of disease and ill health.

Do not accept anything short of complete obedience from yourself.

“Diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes remain leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Substantial scientific research over the past few decades indicates that diet can play an important role in prevention of such conditions.”
Robert E. Windom, M.D., former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Health

Repeat after me …”I Will Obey My 5 Personal Nutrition Laws!”

Great! Now click here to receive your 5 nutrition laws.

Sooner or later you will want to go out for dinner and should have some Restaurant Nutrition Facts to follow.

For your reading pleasure I have also included a copy of the Glycemic Index (page 1) and Glycemic Index (page 2)

Now that we have established the basic nutrition guidelines or “laws” that we will follow, it is time to take a look at some underlying principles of healthy food selection and meal planning.

The next page of this section will deal with four important elements or nutrition concepts.

I know of no other nutrition plan that includes all four of these important Nutrition Concepts.

If you are interested in some additional reading, I found a very good site which discusses how Healthy Eating Can Become Your Lifestyle! If we can educate ourselves on the basics of nutrition and start making healthy changes to our lifestyles good things start to happen to us.
  • We start to lose weight and feel better about ourselves.
  • We have a better attitude about work, life, friends, and family.
  • We have energy left at the end of the day to do the things we want to do.
  • It starts a positive 'snowball effect' and before you know it you're hooked on this 'healthy lifestyle'.

Eating healthy will just become second nature.
