A Fat Digester - Lipase & Chromium

In this day an age it was decided that what we need to round things out is a good fat digester. Consider these facts:

  • Excess fat leads to obesity and various associated health concerns.
  • Obesity puts the body’s organs through extreme stress, causing a wide range of degenerative diseases and shortening the life span.
  • Over 75 million people in the United States could be considered obese.
  • The number of overweight Americans actually rose from 26 percent in 1980 to 34 percent in 1991, and is still rising.
  • The 1994 NHANES report recorded 32.6 percent of the population as moderately overweight, and 22.3 percent as severely overweight.
  • In 1999, a report in the New England Journal of Medicine reported that the risk of death increases throughout the range of moderate and severe overweight for both men and women and in all age groups.

These are very sobering statistics but maybe you don’t think they concern you. Maybe you are close to your ideal weight and therefore a fat digester is not required.

You maybe right but even people who don’t have excess stored fat, often have undigested fat in the bloodstream, which can lead to heart disease and atherosclerosis, the leading causes of death today.

But Fat is Not the Problem
People are often quick to target fat consumption by severely reducing their intake. Yet, fat itself is not the problem. You may be surprised to learn that 20% of your diet should be from fats in order to promote proper organ function and healthy hair and skin. Fat is also the best source of energy.

Unfortunately most of the fat we eat comes from poor sources, isn’t raw and a fat digester using the enzyme lipase is needed to break it down to be used for energy. In the absence of lipase, fat is stored or only partially broken down, leaving it free to circulate in the bloodstream and cling to the walls of your arteries. Most diets do not provide Lipase so, supplementing with this important enzyme is vital to your health.

Eating too much sugar can lead to hypoglycemic or diabetic tendencies and creates mood swings, cravings and headaches. Sugar can interfere with the production of insulin, the hormone that the body secretes to help control hunger, and regulate fat burning and muscle building. Insulin surges cause people to eat 60 to 70 percent more at the following meal. Although low in calories, sugar can cause you to store body fat and increase blood triglyceride levels.

Beware of “fat-free” – cookies, cakes and other snacks.

We now know eating a diet, high in simple sugars causes the liver to produce more triglycerides, which raises blood triglycerides (a risk factor for heart disease) and there is a possible link between increased triglycerides and diabetes.

Chromium – Essential for Insulin Function
Add to the above issues, an estimated 90 percent of Americans fail to meet the daily requirements for the mineral chromium. Chromium insures that insulin works efficiently and plays an important role in carbohydrate and fat metabolism. Chromium deficiency causes fatigue, leads to excessive fat production, and is a major contributor to heart disease and diabetes. This deficiency, coupled with the abuse of fat and sugars, can be linked to the lack of energy, mood swings and obesity that so many people experience.

Chromium has received a lot of press lately; unfortunately the best form is not often promoted. Chromium picolinate, which is chromium bound to picolinic acid, has been shown to cause liver toxicity and has also been linked to cancer.

Be safe and still know that you are taking a product which will effectively assist your body burn its fat stores. I have a chromizyme recommendation for you.
