SUPPLEMENT STORES

Digestion and
Digestive Enzymes Supplements

My first recommendation is to take Digestive Enzymes supplements to help replace your body’s enzyme stores. (Remember, we discussed this briefly on Replace Missing Nutrients )

Because the foods you eat are usually cooked or processed, they no longer provide you with enough viable enzymes to handle the job they used to years ago.
Click here to see all five recommendations.

Studies show that eating enzyme deficient foods cause the white blood cell count to rise (digestive leukocytosis) just like when your body is sick or you have ingested poison.

As a result, your body must mobilize its immune system to deal with what it sees as a foreign substance.

This puts tremendous stress on your body, causing premature aging and reduced longevity. This may be the reason the average life span is 75 years when we should live to be 120.

When enzymes are not present, food is often only partially digested causing additional problems such as allergies, lethargy and plaque build up in the blood vessels.

Often, enzyme deficiency, or Food Intolerance , will cause you indigestion with unpleasant symptoms, such as:

burping, heartburn, bad breath, excess gas,
skin problems, diarrhea, constipation, and more.

Unfortunately, the problem goes much further than minor discomfort. Enzyme deficiency,
  • interferes with hormone production,
  • inhibits cellular repair, and
  • causes digestive problems to become chronic.

Warning: Symptoms of indigestion are usually treated with antacids like Tums or Rolaids which stop digestion, or Tagamet, Zantac or Pepcid-AC which are acid inhibitors.

These kinds of treatment are creating major health concerns.

Enzyme Supply Must be Replenished
Eating a diet of only raw foods in today’s world is impractical or even impossible but we must somehow replenish our enzyme supply in order to avoid a wide range of diseases. The solution is safe and easy by including digestive enzymes supplements whenever we eat a meal or snack that is cooked or processed.

Unfortunately not all digestive enzymes supplements are the same.
Most enzyme formulas, particularly single-plant enzyme products such as papaya or pineapple, are not complete. Protease, for example, starts the digestion of protein by breaking it down to a peptide but peptides can’t be used by your body and can cause more harm than good.

You need enzyme supplements that include peptidase which will break the peptides down into usable amino acids.

Must Survive all Stages of Digestion
You should also make sure you choose digestive enzymes that work in all three stages of digestion.

Only supplements using pure plant enzymes can withstand the changes in temperature and pH levels of the digestive process.

Animal enzymes, such as pepsin, don’t work in all stages of digestion and according to studies, may interfere with your body’s natural processes.

For the above reasons, most of the products available across the counter in health food stores are not up to the task. You need to make sure you have all your bases covered.
