Whew! That feels better!
Now I would like to offer you the following information and hope that you will judge for yourself.
First, consider some general facts. In my research I found that:
- no one has been able to prove a cause and effect relationship between heart disease and cholesterol
- most patients with heart disease have normal cholesterol levels
- cholesterol lowering drugs and extremely low cholesterol diets may actually increase your chances of dying (deaths from other heart problems have risen)
- heart failure has reached epidemic proportions in western countries during the 15 years of statin (cholesterol lowering drugs) use. In the U.S. this represents a fourfold increase in heart-disease-related deaths
- more stringent studies have proven that cholesterol may not even be the main cause of heart disease
- no simple correlation has been found between fat intake and heart attacks
- high cholesterol may only be a “marker” that indicates something is not right with your body. (think of it as only a symptom of the real problem)
My Story
Not long ago I had a complete physical and my doctor informed me that he was concerned about my cholesterol level. He wanted to put me on a cholesterol medications to bring it back into line.
At this stage in my life, after many hours reading about nutritional supplements, I was beginning to be quite critical of traditional medicine. As a result I was very hesitant about taking drugs that I wasn’t familiar with so ...
I started to read up on this whole “High Cholesterol is BAD” idea.
I was about to discover what “Scientific Research” had Exposed:
“An Ugly Perversion of Science in the Name of Greed”
Please read on because …
This Information Could Save Your Life
What I found out was very disturbing in the least. Cholesterol medications or cholesterol lowering drugs known as “statins” and “fibrates” could be part of the deadliest health myth in the history of medicine.
If you are taking them you owe it to yourself to check them out closely. The products you may be consuming could be referred to as:
- simvastatin (Zocor)
- fluvastatin (Lescol)
- lovastatin (Mevacor)
- atorvastatin (Lipitor)
- rosuvastatin (Crestor) and
- pravastatin (Pravachol)
This page will give you a brief introduction but if you want to get into more detail, I highly recommend you purchase "Hidden Truth about Cholesterol Lowering Drugs". I found it to be a very good read. | |
So now, with your permission, I would like to change our slogan to …
Low Cholesterol – BAD!!!
I know you are probably highly sceptical about this statement and with very good reason. After all, you and I grew up hearing that High Cholesterol was bad and that we should avoid eating all kinds of foods we love lest this ugly beast and its brother “Heart Disease” invade our happy lives.
Well I know that you are not going to give any credence to anything I have said on this page without some scientific back up.
Everywhere you turn; there are ads for drugs... especially cholesterol medications.
Soooo ...
Let’s Drag out the Facts
With all the hype against high cholesterol, I was extremely surprised and shocked to learn that there was lots of scientific evidence for it or at least against the fear of it.
Consider the following studies:
- In 2006 - “Low Serum Total Cholesterol Is Associated With Marked Increase in Mortality In Advanced Heart Failure” - Authors; HORWICH T B (Ucla, California) HAMILTON M A (Ucla, California) MACLELLAN W R (Ucla, California) FONAROW G C (Ucla, California)
They analyzed 1,134 heart disease patients and found that
- low cholesterol impaired survival and was associated with worse outcomes while
- high cholesterol improved survival rates.
- Cholesterol and Mortality. 30 Years of follow-up from the Framingham Study
Journal of the American Medical Association - After 50 there is no increased overall death rate associated with high cholesterol but there was a direct association between death and low or dropping levels.
SUMMARY: Heart patients can benefit from an increased cholesterol level.
- In 2003, the Journal of American Geriatrics Society published a four year study of 3295 participants age 65-84. The study concluded that participants with cholesterol levels under 189 mg/dL are at a higher risk of dying than those with levels from 276 to 417 mg/dL.
I am continuing to look into the topic of cholesterol medications so please bookmark this page and return soon as I intend to add to it in the very near future.
If after all the evidence to the contrary you still believe high cholesterol is as bad as they claim, at the very least try natural remedies rather than cholesterol medications.
